- A considerate and respectful care, irrespective of your race, color, religion, national origin, gender or age.
- Have your illness, treatment and likely outcomes explained to you and to discuss options and alternatives.
- Know the names and roles of the people providing treatment.
- Be informed of the hospital charges for service and available modes of payments.
- Consent or refuse a treatment or plan of care, as permitted by law and GEI policy, and to be informed of the risks.
- Express your spiritual beliefs and receive care that supports your cultural and religious practices.
- Personal privacy during the course of examination / investigations.
- Confidentiality of your records unless you have given permission to release information. The institute may release your record to others when you are transferred to another physician facility, or to an insurer, or when otherwise required or permitted by law.
- Be treated with dignity, respect and courtesy.
- Access to information contained in your clinical record within a responsible time frame and participate in ethical issues that may arise in the course of your care.
- Receive information about clinical experiments, research or educational projects related to your care or treatment including the expected benefits, potential discomforts and risks and alternatives that may also be available.
- Be informed if this hospital has relationships with other hospitals, educational institutions, other healthcare providers, or players that may influence your treatment and care.
- Consent to or refuse to take part in research affecting your care or treatment. If you choose to refuse, you will receive all other medically indicated care.
- Accept or refuse medical care or to change your mind set regarding your care. If you decide to leave before the doctor's advice, GEI will not be responsible for any harm that this may cause.
- Request and receive a detailed explanation of your medical bill.
- Be informed of GEI's complaint/grievance process and be able to voice complaints and concerns without affecting your care and treatment.
