| Am I eligible for VISX? |
| We will perform a quick, painless exam of your eye called a WaveScan WaveFront™ measurement to help determine your suitability for Advanced CustomVue
This information is 25 times more precise than the traditional methods of measurements for glasses or contact lens prescriptions.
Advanced CustomVue is FDA approved to treat the entire range of Refractive Errors. |
| Myopia: |
| Also known as nearsightedness, is the refractive error in which vision is better for near objects than for distant objects |
| Hyperopia: |
| Also known as farsightedness, is the refractive error in which vision is better for distant objects than for near objects. |
| Astigmatism: |
| The normal cornea is round, like a basketball. Astigmatism causes the cornea to be shaped more like a football or an egg. This causes distortion in vision. |
| Mixed Astigmatism: |
| Now an effective CustomVue™ treatment exists for mixed astigmatism patients who are especially challenging to treat. As shown in the clinical study, patients with mixed astigmatism now have the potential to achieve better vision than is possible with glasses or contact lenses. |
| More than 94% of the eligible population, 21 years and older, are potential candidates for the CustomVue™ procedure. |
| A Wavescan consultation and the ophthalmologist at GEI will help determine your suitability for Advanced CustomVue treatment. |
| If you're nearsighted or farsighted – and even if you have astigmatism or mixed astigmatism –CustomVue laser vision correction at GEI can potentially help you achieve a new level of vision -- your Personal Best Vision. |
